Are you interested in working in theatre or film?

Are you the next George Lucas

or Cameron Mackintosh?

Do you live in Southwark or Lambeth?

Are you aged between 16 and 19?

Then you could be a Street Genius!

(and get paid for it!)

We are looking for 2 creative people to set up and run:

** a mobile-phone film festival **

from the first idea to the final gala event.

On the scheme, you will:

• Launch and lead a competition to find the best young film-makers in Southwark and Lambeth.
• Work with Southwark Playhouse to realise your vision for the project. As a member of our creative team you will learn about curating, programming, marketing, and events management.
• Learn all about film-making with B3 Media.
• Organise the festival screenings and gala event.
• Record your experience online, through our website and www.bebo.com

Geniuses will be paid expenses of £30 per day, and work with us for 26 days between June and September 2008.

You will not need any previous experience to be a Street Genius.

How to apply

1. Turn up at the recruitment workshop on 31st May. The workshop starts at 10.30am and finishes at 3.30pm. You can sign up for this workshop by speaking to Ellen Hughes at Southwark Playhouse on 020 7407 0234 or ellen.hughes@southwarkplayhouse.co.uk

We will be recruiting Street Geniuses as a result of this workshop. You MUST be present for the whole workshop to be eligible for this placement.

At the workshop, you will find out more about the scheme and take part in a number of challenges with a team. The tasks that we set you will test your ability to manage and plan events – you will get to be creative, you’ll have to think fast, and part of the session will be recorded on film.

You will also be given an application pack. You should fill this in and give it back to us on the day, so that we can contact you about interviews.

We are looking for people who are creative, good communicators, resourceful, inspiring and (above all) motivated.

2. Six people will be chosen to come for an interview on 7th June 2008.
