True/Fiction Theatre presentsThe Exquisite Corpse
by Branwen Davies, Angharad Devonald, Tracy Harris, Kit Lambert & Othniel Smith
May 5th 2009 - May 30th 2009
Show starts: 7.30pm
Running time: 70 minutes (no interval)
Whilst elves mend the shoes of a sleeping girl, a man falls to his knees in a busy street and a dog talks to his therapist about his unhappy childhood...
The Exquisite Corpse is a theatrical version of the Surrealist game 'consequences'. Each scene was written in isolation, and the whole shape of the play is unknown until the parts come together. You (the audience) shuffle those parts around at every performance, putting them into a new order, and a lyrically surreal story unfolds before your eyes in its own unique version; one of six million possible shows.
Following its critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2008, True/Fiction bring you this thrillingly interactive play by five of Wales' most exciting writers. The Exquisite Corpse is a play full of hidden stories, and the ways in which we understand them. Poignant, compelling and always entirely different.
5 writers, 16 scenes, 6 million possibilities.
