Southwark Playhouse PresentsRosie Wilby: The Science Of Sex
June 19th 2009
Show starts: 21.30
Former Funny Women Finalist Rosie Wilby investigates the science of attraction, sexual chemistry and sexual identity with spoof experiments and handmade props.
What makes us gay or straight? What turns us on? What are pheromones? Why are we attracted to one person and not another? What happens chemically in the brain when we fall in love? What is the scientific origin of kissing? Do aphrodisiacs work?
Says Rosie, ‘the inspiration for the show came from the fact that my own relationship was approaching the 3 year mark, which is apparently a bit of a critical stage - as relationships often go in cycles of 3 with a lot of separations happening in the 4th year. So you could say my eagerness to learn about the dynamics of relationships was borne from fear!’
Rosie made her Australian performing debut in March 2009, headlining a sold out female comedy night at a 200 capacity venue in the heart of Sydney. She presents various radio shows and has appeared on LBC, BBC Radio 5, and BBC London.
