- Are you between the ages of 18 – 25?
- Do you want to be an events organiser?
- Want to learn about all that’s involved in putting on a successful event?
- Do you have a great idea for putting on an event yourself?
If the answer is “yes” then you’ll be excited to know that Southwark Playhouse, in partnership with Gary Beestone Ltd, are offering a FREE events management training programme for 6 weeks from the 15th February 2010.
What is it?
Over the course of 2 weeks the programme will offer intensive master-classes and hands-on workshops, from seasoned industry professionals, in:
• Project Management
• Licensing
• Marketing
• Lighting
• Sound
• Rigging
Following the 2 week course you’ll be given a budget, as a group, to produce your own ‘pop-up’ event – find a space, devise a concept and put it on! You could put on a club night, provide a platform for local musicians at an open mic, design a temporary gallery for a one-off exhibition, organise a circus event in an outdoor venue… the sky’s the limit.
As part of the course, you’ll be given the chance to get a National Certificate for Personal License Holders, and you will be given individual mentoring and support after the project has finished towards helping you realise your own projects or starting a career in events.
Who is it for?
This course is for people between the ages of 18 and 25, living in London. To be eligible for the course, you must be working less than 16 hours per week.
When is it?
The programme is divided into two distinct areas, the first is the training course and the second is the practical element in which you devise and put on your own events. These take place at the following times:
