Firehouse Productions presents

Stella

A radical new adaptation of Goethe’s “Play for Lovers”

March 23rd 2010 - March 27th 2010

Show starts: 7.30pm (3pm Sat mat.)

Following their successful debut, I Confess, in Edinburgh last year, new company Firehouse Creative
Productions brings you Stella, a devised piece inspired by real life stories, a re-working of Goethe’s
original.

Blending stories from around the world collected through their innovative project StoryStation, within the devising process, Firehouse creates Stella, a love story infused with live music and dance, examining the sacrifices we face in order to get what we want.

Leo and his dad blow into town looking for a lucky new start. As whisky and music flow freely, chance encounters with kindred spirits reveal secrets too close for comfort. Will this be the last stop on their journey or will they flee as fast as they can?

With bases in the UK and the US, Firehouse Creative Productions is an international theatre company that engages audiences, diverse communities and theatre-makers in the contemporary
retelling of classic texts. Using the interactive digital installation, StoryStation, we invite people
from across the globe to share stories, which are integrated into the devising process, resulting in
productions for the stage, related performance events, and ongoing cross-community applications.

This approach is based on our belief that each individual’s story can give an insight into universal truths. Our Open Source approach online allows the general public to observe and contribute to the creative process by going to http://firehouse.wordpress.com.
