The People's Company

Aged 25 and over and want to explore your creativity and interest in theatre?

The People’s Company aims to give local people a voice in the future of the community, empowering creativity and giving members a voice in Southwark’s creative scene.

People’s Company members have the opportunity to explore acting, directing, writing and the mechanics of theatre such as lighting and sound.

  • You don’t have to have studied theatre or had any experience, people with all abilities are welcome and the emphasis of the group is about having fun.

    If you are interested in joining, or want to find out more, please contact Mina Temple on peoplescompanylondon@gmail.com, who can let you know when we will next be recruiting new members. Please note that residency within the borough of Southwark is now a requirement.

  • When?
    Tue 7-9pm

    Where?
    All of our workshops are held at Southwark Playhouse in our rehearsal room and education space here at the Playhouse, about 3 minutes walk from Elephant and Castle Tube, and 6 minutes from Borough.

  • 9.59, a night of short plays and monologues, being performed at Southwark Playhouse on 22 May 2022.

    As You Like It as part of Our Theatre 2018 at Shakespeare’s Globe.

    Thames Tales at Southwark Playhouse, a newly devised play that took a closer look at issues such as social change and redevelopment.

    The Melodramatic Elephant, supported by the Arts Council in 2017.
